HomeschoolSuperSearch Family-Filter
Let HomeschoolSuperSearch help you search the internet safely! We've designed a search engine with parents, teachers, students, and homeschoolers in mind.
To provide you with maximum search results, HomeschoolSuperSearch pulls information from our own database as well as from many popular external search engines. Our internal database is designed to be clean and family-safe. We do not have control over listings from external search engines, however, we have taken a few steps to make our website more family-friendly.
HomeschoolSuperSearch recognizes that you may desire to "filter" out pornographic or inappropriate content from your search results. With this in mind, we created the HomeschoolSuperSearch Family Filter.
With HomeschoolSuperSearch Family Filter, you can search the internet without fear of seeing pornographic or inappropriate content. Our search engine utilizes advanced database technology. We maintain a growing list of banned keywords. When you search the internet using our search box, the search process goes through this database effectively filtering out inappropriate sites.
When a banned keyword is typed in the searchbox, the search will return an alert:
SUPERSEARCH ALERT! The keyword "______" is not allowed. This is a family-friendly site. Inappropriate keywords and sites have been filtered to protect children. Read about our Family-Filter system.
Domain or URL Filter: To the maximum extent possible, Domains or URL addresses deemed inappropriate for families will be blocked. Such sites, when discovered, will be added to our growing pre-defined database. Inappropriate Domains or URLs are those sites containing, relating to, or promoting pornography, casinos/gambling, cults, witchcraft, drug use, illegal activities, etc. We need your help! If you encounter any of these sites while using the Family Filter, please report them so we can add them to our blocked list.
Parental Discernment and Adult-Supervision: As with all things, we highly recommend Parental Discernment and Adult-Supervision. We do not believe children should be left surfing the internet without the knowledge of parents or Adult-Supervision. Although we have installed safeguards to filter our search engine service, we also recommend that an Internet Filtering Software be used in your home or subscribe to filtered internet access.
